Prayer & the afterlife

When you pray — to Jesus, or Allah, or Vishnu — it is powerful. When you don’t feel like it, or don’t feel you need to, you are storing up power for the times when prayer is the only option left.

In pre-Christian and pre-Islamic traditions — for example the pre-canonite / Nile Valley religions (these were not pagans) — the soul called Khaibit is, to some extent, shared by people of the same bloodline. The soul stores memories and ideas. So if some people in a bloodline develop deranged ideas, that group is affected more severely than those outside it.

In these religious views, every time blood is spilled senselessly, demonic spirits and ghosts are fed. These kinds of spirits depend on strife and bloodshed — they are ecstatic today. So they produce, or inspire, “content” that encourages bloodshed.

The issue is that many people are dying unprepared. So our communities are plagued with ghosts — wandering spirits with no place to go — and these cause mischief and spiritual disease. The soul that can become a ghost is called Khaibit; this is the soul of a typical ghost. Areas and neighborhoods with a lot of crime are infested with ghosts, and the cycle repeats: ghosts possess people to repeat crimes. This is one view.

After death, some people will become wandering ghosts with no place to go. Every prayer is a construction material for your celestial home.

Every prayer prayed is stored. In prayer, I share my condition — my confusion, my frustration, my fears, and my acceptance of all of these — because I know that all that is good for me, and all that worries me, is ultimately the Creator’s decree. The Creator says “Be,” and it is.

Another prayer I say often: “I don’t understand. I don’t know why, and I know that is OK. You are all-knowing, and I don’t know why.” Don’t let any trial make you stop praying.

Praying is the resistance

When you hear of someone going through a rough patch, a trial, an illness, or some other terrible situation — pray that they spend their time praying throughout it.

With spirituality there is a chronic sadness, because you are aware of an ecstasy that cannot be experienced in this world. You can be grateful for much of this beautiful life, but you are reunited with an unimaginable Love. For this reason, you will never be truly happy — and you won’t be deceived by illusion or poor substitutes.

What is there left to say? Nothing more. Only time for silence and watching the sunrise.

I remind us of many things — the planetary hours, the souls, angels and deities, judgement and eternal life. And I remind us of pre-Christian religious views, some Egyptian, whose people became Muslims.

Spiritual warfare

The Creator sometimes compels us to engage in spiritual warfare — and spiritual warfare brings us closer to our Creator. How you engage in it determines the outcome: it will bring you closer to the Creator, or move you farther away.

If you are in an army of mystics on the side of righteousness, and one of you does something evil in the midst of warfare, that person is more of an enemy to you than your opposition. If one of you uses warfare to justify doing something evil, get rid of them. Spiritual warfare requires spiritual discipline. Divine rules always apply.

The righteous have divine rules for engaging in war. The wicked do not — evil is a strategy for them. And evil is evil, whether done by an oppressor or by the oppressed. It remains evil. There is no justification for it.

Violence against LGBTQ people — gay, trans, or otherwise — is evil. Period. Scripture does not justify that evil. Those who commit it have been tricked, deceived.
